Welcome to the MYGEMS Birthday Party Site
We provide numerous party ideas for youth of all ages. If you want to provide the best birthday party for your child at an affordable price, scroll down to read how. We can also create parties for your team sports end of year celebration or Achievement Parties for making the honor roll or another achievement at school. We also highlight children who want to celebrate a milestone in life....making their first "A" in science, getting high marks on the science fair competition or even making the top rankings in Science Olympiad. The list is endless, but at MYGEMS we love to celebrate and make every child feel special on his/her day!
For Boys and Girls ages 7 and up, invite T.K. the Chemist to your birthday party and be the talk of the school. There are many exciting themes to select from. Parents, come to the MYGEMS Science Center, sit back and relax as we help celebrate your child's momentous day!
You Provide : Table decorations, *party favors, food, drink, birthday cake, paper goods and utensils.We provide :
· Each child with a take-home project or gift item based upon the theme of the party.
· A guest list to write down the gift items your child received at the party.
· A special certificate from all the party guests to sign.
· A scientific blast of FUN!!!!!
MYGEMS Reservations:
Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance and depend on availability. A 50% deposit is due at time of registration. There are no refunds for guest number changes. In the event that you must cancel, a $35 non-refundable deposit will be held from the balance given. Reservations may be made over the phone, call (704) 788-3222 and payments mailed payable to: MYGEMS, P.O. BOX 5920, Concord, NC 28027 with cash, checks, money order or credit cards. There is a $35 Returned Check fee or declined credit card. Due to the interactive nature of workshops, we must limit the number of participants. We require at least 1 ADULT per 10 children at the party.
Birthday Party Packages
During the party, we provide 3-5 interactive demonstrations and/or a take home project for each child to complete with friends and family members.

We can also order a cake or cupcakes with the MYGEMS Science Center's logo and the birthday child's name written on the cake. We need at least a two-week notice. The cost is $25.
This is a sample schedule of what happens during the Birthday Party Celebration
MYGEMS will travel to your home, church, club house or your preferred location to do the birthday party. There is a travel fee for any locations outside of our 25 mile radius billed at the rate of 0.50 cents per mile round trip.
MYGEMS will arrive at your location 30 minutes prior to the start of the party time to set up our equipment and materials for all of your party guests. We provide the tables, chairs and sturdy floor mats for those special hardwood floors and/or carpet.
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm Guest arrive and T.K. the Chemist will begin the party celebration with interactive science games.
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm 3-5 Interactive Science Activities (Take-home interactive projects)
2:00 pm - 2:15 pm MYGEMS will present the "Birthday Scientist" with a special gift. This is the time for a special photo op with Mrs. "T.K. the Chemist"
2:15 pm MYGEMS will begin to clean up

*Our most popoular themes are listed below. If there are other party ideas you would like for us to do, then call us so that we are able to customize your party to meet the birthday child's needs. This is your child's special day and we want that day to be extra special!!!!
Einstein Chemical Concoctions Party (ages 5 and up)
Explore simple chemical concoctions as colorful, magical, foggy bubbles appear! Each child will be able to make a special chemical reaction inside their test tube. Each child will be able to make a batch of glow in the dark slime or take home a science trinket of appreciation
CSI Mystery Party (ages 9 and up)What does DNA look like? Each child will extract DNA from fruit while using the same tools and techniques that forensic scientists use to solve crimes. Each child will receive one of the following science trinkets after the program: a sample of crime scene tape (if age appropriate), a sample of their cheek cell DNA in a special DNA necklace or another type of CSI gadget. They will also complete 2 crime scene investigations.
Ancient Past! Can you dig it? (ages 5 and up)Dinosaurs are mysterious animals that children find very fascinating. Learn some interesting facts about these ancient reptiles as we put dinosaur puzzles together, dig through a dinosaur sand pit and much more. At the end of the party, each child will be able to receive a science trinket of a Growing Dinosaur, a fact card, or Dinosaur tattoo.
3..2..1..Space Blast off! (ages 7 and up)
Watch a colorful chemical light show based upon the stars, make glow-in-the dark constellation mats. Sample astronaut ice cream and complete solar system fun packs! Each child will either make glow-in-the dark constellation mats or take home a science trinket of appreciation centered on the science theme of Space.
MYGEMS Grossology…Yuck! Sticky! Slimy! (ages 8 and up)Are you prepared to make yucky, sticky, slimy science experiments? What about making fake snot that does something special in the dark. You will be able to complete several activities that will cause you to squirm. Samples of candy flavored insects are available.
MYGEMS Diva Spas for the Girls (ages 8 and up)
Bath and Body Works don’t have anything on the MYGEMS personalized bath salts and soaps! Each girl will be able to create their very own fruity concoctions of bath salts and either a special designer soap or signature lip gloss. They will also be pampered with a nice foot soaking in some colorful bubbly surprises.
*Please note: The party package rate is $245 for up to 15 girls. Additional girls is $10 per person.
